Leica today has issued a statement notifying M8 owners of an upcoming recall of the camera to address "Issues reported as 'Banding' and 'Mirror/Ghost images'." The company also plans to provide purchasers of the digital rangefinder a kit of two UV/IR lens filters designed to correct the infrared contamination problem early M8 users have observed. Availability of the screw-on filters is planned for February 2007.
