How ridiculous.

It does not matter what the amount $X is, because the "payment" from the left hand to the right hand of the same entity is a sham and the property does not belong to the so-called seller in the first place.

It seems the rightful owner is Taiwan.

the Senkaku Islands dispute?

:bsmilie:

anyways, are you the ICJ? who are you to make that statement that the rightful owner is taiwan?

both sides should just make effort present facts and evident of ownership, not just BnS or shout shout shout. when the brothers of thousand years quarrel, nothing good about.
just facts and history digging, takes time only. better than showing the ugly, the disgrace and then the dangerous wrong moves...

precisely.

anyways..

FYI China only started making claims that the islands rightly belonged to them after the findings that there might be loads of natural gas located in the area.

Plus China is just being silly to claim the entire damn South China Sea as their territorial waters.

china will soon claim Moon bcos chang-er is chinese..

saw a news heading that china refer to part of india as Tibet-something.. making India very DL..

seriously, all excuses........

The country which has the military strength and economic wealth to backup the claim.... will most likely win... fair or unfair has little to do with it in the end.

look at how FAR the Spratley islands are from China ..... China is also claiming it as theirs

the implications are serious ..... China could then claim every piece of land that Cheng Ho stepped foot on

China says everything INSIDE the RED Line belongs to them ..... ???

this happened to Tibet

You dont want China to walk the same expansionist path as Japan did 100 years ago ...... how roles have changed

When World peace is at stake.

When you need to fight for the cause.

True but things are often not as simple. Strong as either China or USA are, neither are ready to fight or risk economic sanctions being placed upon them. ASEAN weak militarily (heck, they don't even have a defense pact!) still has enough presence to engage China on a multilateral basis to at least slow down the encroachment of the Chinese in the SCS.

Yeah. Interesting to see how the role has reversed. According to the Laws of the Sea, they are only able to claim and use resources within 300 nautical miles from their shoreline and it is quite certain that the SCS are way way beyond their reach. Hence, we see a rather far fetched attempt to claim the SCS based on historical documents that the area was first discovered by the Chinese all those years back. The thing is, they know this won't fly with the international community hence, the slow encroachment/entrenchment of their claims by first placing shoal markers, the building "fisherman" huts and now proclaiming a city in the SCS.

Question is when would the international community think enough is enough? And even so, are they able to sustain their own economic growth without the vast markets China has to offer?

my fb fren once show me a Qing dynasty map, it was smaller.. and it didn't include land it now says belong to them.. so now suddenly become bigger..

Cheng Ho came to SG before right? siao liao..

bcos got the word China.. so Korea also change their Seoul chinese name from Han Cheng to Sou Er ... scare sia.. scaly one day China say korea also mine.. ho say liao

slowly and thinly but surely the Chinese are slicing salami .... or chopping very thin slices of lap cheong

Salami Slicing in the South China Sea - By Robert Haddick | Foreign Policy

"Salami-slicing" politics ...... " the slow accumulation of small actions, none of which is a casus belli, but which add up over time to a major strategic change"

so Japan returns the favor by sashimi-slicing tactics

A good counter-measure is for enough countries to also begin slicing multiple small actions together ..... China will be hard pressed to counter each and every single slice on multiple fronts

And that is the issue... since USA isn't too likely to risk going to war with China inorder to help Japan... and Japan, with its smaller Military and weaken economic... could hardly be able to threaten China.

S.E Asian countries lagi need not say... we are more of a union for economic reason than anything else... highly unlikely we could.... or would.... join together and challenge China (which every S E Asia nation do business with..).

that red line is close to my kampung Sabah!!! for sure i don't want to change my passport to because of my water house inside the redline, and i fear for my friends at those tiny islands outside Sabah (too small to see in the screen map) do not know anything and suddenly "told to sing different song, change passport, take speed / jet cruise all the way to mainland to school etc..." (all these are still hypoxxxxx assumption). walao....a dream....
