Hi all, the colour of my LG monitor is out after a year.
Intended to get a new monitor, at least 23", mostly for photo editing and other normal usage.
Any good and reliable monitor to recommend? Budget not more then $500.

Thanks

Look on the Dell website for their IPS screens. They deliver to your home too.

But why not just recalibrate your current monitor?

Hi thanks for your reply and info. I don't think is the calibration issue. 1/3 left of the monitor is purplish, but the rest of the colour is normal. Think most likely is the monitor panel issue.

How about Samsung and Philips? Is it good?

For gaming, yeah. For photography, the Dell IPS are good.

and you can't just say "Samsung or Philips". You need to look at specific models then read the review. All brands have good and bad monitors. Cannot just say "All Samsung are good" or "All Samsung are bad".

For $200 bucks more you can look at the Dell 2410 or an Asus P246-Q.

Both use P-IPS and CCFL backlighting. Won't save the environment or your housing bill but for that price these two are generally regarded as near even competitors and 2 of the best amateur photographer monitors.

Don't forget to google for the real panel manufacturer behind them too. Those big brands don't always build their own LCD panel.
