Yup. :D I did use flash on the photo cause the place was too dark to get a proper photo without having flash on :D
Well. its meant to look messy. Its a restaurant/cafe at B1 of cineleisure orchard, basically u pay $8.90 and get to dump 30 over items onto your plate.
And the best thing is that... the limit is to as much as u can fit onto your plate :p

Well. It is just one dish, but its kinda like a "dump-all-you-can" kinda dish :D

B1 Cineleisure restaurant/cafe. I forgotten the name but its on the left of the escalator area ;)
Taste great and worth the price!

ah... interesting concept... so it's sort of like buffet with a twist... instead of "eat as much as you can"... it's "take as much as you could" huh... :D

haven been to cineleisure for a while... but B1 on the left of escalator area last time used to be a fried chicken restaurant right..? so this place is located just beside the food court...?

Nice attempt. Food photography is the same as portrait. You need to think what are you trying to say to a viewer. Your shot would say hey look at my snap shot of the plate of food I just bought and yeah it is nice see how a took a bite or two to taste. Show the plate alone, be careful what you have in the picture. Arrange the food on the plate - it is like adding jewelry or fashion accessories to your choice of dress. Display nicely it look lovely displayed any old how you look like an aunty. Lighting plays a role but since it indoors and there is most probably no other light you are limited to what you can co opt in to light your plate. Experiment with how to soften, redirect the on camera flash - yes that can be done if you take the trouble to learn how to for your flash. Remember things are dead, people are alive and can adapt.

Yeap. It is an interesting concept because you will literally see "mountains" of food on people's plate but generally the plates are shared among 2-3 people at least. Even me and my friend we two big eaters, couldn't finish the plate of food :x yes it is at the last time fried chicken restaurant there :D this cafe/restaurant has taken over the space and is doing well! crowded during dinner time!

Try avoid using flash directly on the food as it’s too harsh. If really no choice, use a flash diffuser or have the flash bounce off a ceiling :)
If taking about food photography, try not to take food with such a "messy" presentation. But if it's a snap shot to share with friends it's nice

At least now I know got this interesting concept resturant in SG :bsmilie:

IF i use my handphone flash to shine onto the food then use my camera to take it without the camera flash, will it be better? :p
It is not bad for the taste but.. we took too much fried food so it was kinda oily on my tastebuds! :D

Any direct light that shine on the food will be harsh :) even those food photography that use nature light will use curtain to defuse the sunlight and a reflector to reflect light onto the food.
You can try using higher ISO in low light. May be noisy but better than blur photos

Shall go and try out the food hahha stack it like a mountain :bsmilie:

Sorry for the delay in posting.. But here is it all!

Fish&chips!
Quite tasty for the texture and crisp but a bit too saltish.

Tortilla chips with cheese.
Not bad but the chips was kinda soft compared to the usual nacho corn chips.

Blackforest cake.
suitable for chocolate lovers as I personally think its too chocolatey!

Home-cooked carrot cake.
Tasted a little plain as this is my first attempt at cooking carrot cake !
Photo overall kinda too yellowy.

:D

Hi Serene,

Glad to see you keep it coming

Just share a few pointers I learned from here.

Shall not touch on WB as you already seen it

Watch your composition on your fish & chip and the black forest cake. I prefer if the photos were taken on side view. Can see more details on the food.

As for the carrot cake the lighting is too harsh but I like the way you added many eggs in it :bsmilie:
Love carrot cake with lots of egg hahaha

Keep it coming~!!
