LCD monitor (wide)

Hi, can anyone advice on how to set the LCD to view photo

I have a 22" wide screen from my brother-in-law, but when viewing my photo it seem not very correct, like viewing my baby photo, the image like some kind of been press down. How can I solve this problem or should I change to a normal LCD instead of a wide one?

right click on desktop > properties > settings... change to wide screen resolution 1280x768 eg...

I think 22 inch can go up to 1680 by 1050 pixels
