While dual-system audio recording is a pain, sometimes, it is worth the trouble so that a gimbal can handle better minus audio or when action cams or 360 cameras are required. Many action cams suffer from poor audio quality even if good mics are plugged into the camera. This could be the fault of adapters or just poor circuitry.
Synching audio becomes a problem as multiple takes pile up over multiple recorders.
