did you use photo shop?

On the extract tool, try using a larger paintbrush, it will soften the extraction,
making the boundary less "sharp"

Don't use lasso.

also, try auto leveling your photo's a little before you PS. Use ACDsee,
and i reccommend the roboenhancer plugin for batch processing.
