Hello all -- Thought you might be interested in this exhibit. Please contact L2Space if you'd like to come to the opening. Each Sunday an Ocean Geo photographer will host a free, limited-space session on various aspects of underwater photography. I'll post the schedule to this thread when it's confirmed. Media alert below gives all the details. Best, Ed.

L2 Space and Ocean Geographic Present:
Gifts from the Sea - The Finest Pictures of Ocean Geographic

Singapore, 2 October 2009 - L2 Space and Ocean Geographic will launch Singapore’s first-ever fine-art photography exhibition focused on ocean life on November 20, 2009. Gifts from the Sea - The Finest Pictures of Ocean Geographic will be held at Singapore’s first fine art photographic gallery, L2 Space, and will feature works from some of the world’s most celebrated underwater artists including Wyland, David Doubilet, Ernie H Brooks II, Doug Perrine, Emory Kristof and Michael Aw. The exhibition also will include works by Singapore-based artists Ivan Choong, Mikael Jigmo and Edward Dixon. These artists have travelled to virtually every corner of the underwater world and for the first time in Singapore, 55 visually arresting images of their adventures will be reproduced as fine art archival prints for sale.

Part of the proceeds from the sale of these works will be donated to the Singapore Environmental Council (SEC) and the Ocean Geographic Climate Change Photographic Index.

The show also will serve as the official Singapore launch of Elysium Epic (www.elysiumepic.org), a photographic research expedition to Antarctica. In February 2010, 50 of the world’s top environmental photographers, scientists and historians will follow Ernest Shackleton’s Endurance expedition route to Antarctica, and will document via photographs and video, the impact of climate change on the world’s most remote and fragile environment. Images from Elysium Epic will become part of the Ocean Geographic Climate Change Photographic Index.
