Minolta will market little before spring two new reflex cameras
24x36, Dynax 40 and Dynax 60, intended to replace current Dynax 5 and
4.

Great spring-cleaning for Minolta which, in early March will put on
the market two new reflex cameras 24x36, intended to replace current
Dynax 5, 4... and all their variations!

THE DYNAX 40...
... will be the new model entered of range of the mark. Under its
body of color money hides a reflex camera 24x36 simple but effective
conceived autouyr of a challenge: to offer to the beginners a true
reflex camera, with zoom 28-100mm, for a price lower than 200€,
what
is a true record!
For this price, one lays out of a AF three sensors, a measurement of
the light on two zones and of a a little indolent obturator (1/2000s
and synchro-flash with the 1/90s), but with all the desired modes of
exposure: P for the beginners, A, S and M for the experts...
supplemented by five programs results.
Let us be clear: at this price, Dynax 40 is a business and its uiltra-
luminous sight offers an image differently more precise and
comfortable that that compact numerical however two to three times
the more expensive!

THE DYNAX 60...
... is conceived on same architecture, but its total weight passes
from 330 to 380g (without objective) thanks to the use of nobler
materials and in particular of a cap and a metal bayonet.
Of black color, Dynax 60 has a look plus pro. It also has a more
advanced technology:

- 9 sensors AF with modes continuous, specific and possibility of
final improvement of the point;
- multizone measurement of the light with the famous honeycomb at 14
zones of Minolta;
- 3 images/seconde gives rhythm (instead of 1,7 i/s) out of 40);
- mode flash TTL without cord.

On the other hand the same a little puffing obturator is found...
what lets to us hope for a future Dynax 80 for expert truths and the
amateurs of beautiful optics.

Dynax 60 will be him also proposed with a zoom AF Minolta 28-100mm
f/3,5-4,5 at the price of 350€. It positions clearly like the
substitute of Dynax 5.

MINOLTA NUMERICALLY?
The arrival of two new silver reflex cameras returns more and more
shouting the absence of Minolta vis-a-vis in Canon and Nikon on the
market of the numerical reflex cameras. Minolta answers by Dimâge
A1... excel, but whose neither sight nor the fixed zoom offer the
flexibility of a system reflex camera to interchangeable objectives.
When the hand is forced to them, the engineers of the firm answer
that their numerical reflex camera is "in preparation", but without
another precision until "Wait Photokina" (September 2004). The exit
of such an apparatus before 2005 thus seems very hypothetical.

Chey ! I thought it was a Minolta DSLR and got so excited for nothing.

BTW, was the article translated by an alien from Mars :) ? Sounds really weird. :)

Its an odd move by Minolta. While Nikon and Canon are fighting each other with the launch of new DSLRs every few months, Minolta is fighting launching 2 new film SLR, while also fighting hard on the prosumer digital front!!

Dynax 5 and 4 are very new cameras, so I'm very surprised at the aggression Minolta is showing on the film SLR front by replacing them, but so much slower on the DSLR front. This is even assuming that the earlier reports of Minolta launching DSLR in 2004 is true.
