Lets make a video with your camera workshop
*** HAVE FUN in creating your own short film ***
In today's world of digital photography, all DSLR and Mirrorless systems are able to capture HD video clips besides taking photographs.
Many of us have some sort of camera that allows us to record videos and at some point of time, recorded videos on our own. The total length of the videos on YouTube is 412.3 years which means it will take a person 5 lives to watch all of it. This shows how much video we make every day. However, most of it is bad. This workshop presents an easy learning curve for beginning movie makers to make their videos better. From camera angles and movement to storyboarding to editing, it is a comprehensive workshop that avoids technical jargons. Fun and simple exercises will help enhance your learning experience as well
As we go about travelling or having great sessions with our family members and friends, we capture both photograph and video clips of the fleeting moments which we can enjoy as time goes by. It can be those fantastic angles of landscapes or architecture or performance in our holiday trips or a compilation of video clips of happy moments of your family or friends' gathering or you may even like to embark on personal projects such as capturing the life in the Heartlands.
Imagine you are videographing your kids as they eat, play, sleep, you can piece them all into a short film about them. Imagine you are videographing the pre-war architecture of Chinatown or Little India, you can compile the clips into your very own documentary film.
You shall also be taught on video editing as well to produce serious amateur short films.
The instructor is Yingmin, a graduate from Beijing Film Academy. She shall share with you the secrets of good video making, story boarding, angles etc.

**Theory
- Basic camera settings
- Framing your shots
- A variety of angles
- Creating movement such as zooming with your feet and not the lens
- Thinking ahead: Storyboarding
**Practical
- In-class hands on demonstration
- Individual project: Sights and sounds of Waterloo Street (1-minute)
Editing
- Dialing up your dialogue
- Adding music
- Transition Effects
- Adding titles and credits (learn how to add behind-the-scenes shot in your credits)
- Uploading to youTube
