PRODUCT AND FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP

Food and Product photography is getting popular today due to the lower cost of setting up a home studio using flash lights instead of flash strobes. With the knowledge of lighting fundamentals techniques, one is able to create many stunning images, reproduction work, take good pictures of food products. There are many secrets to share, especially in lighting setup and control. The participants shall learn how to use wireless off camera flash lights to create professional looking pictures of product and food. This Product and Food Studio Photography workshop is suitable for enthusiasts who are keen on working with using speedlights in a studio environment.

*** Students are required to bring along their DSLRs and a computer with Adobe Photoshop CS6 and Camera Raw installed. As this course is aimed at beginners and intermediate photographers alike, no prior studio experience is necessary for this workshop.

This hands-on workshop will begin with basic lighting knowledge and common lighting techniques used in product and food studio photography. These techniques include learning how to light highly reflective objects such as glass and metal, photographing a product against a white and black background respectively, low key and high key lighting, and working with numerous light sources for larger objects. Students will also be taught how to effectively use props and setting to create a strong visual look for their photos.

Over the course of the workshop, students will learn composition and post-processing skills too. Also, fun and creative tips and tricks will be shared in the workshop. At the end of the workshop, students will be equipped with the knowledge, technical skills and confidence to create dynamic photos of the products they sell, their handicrafts, the food sitting on their plates or even their favourite toys.
