I think it's a bit extreme to compare Orchard Road and KL. For one it's quite hard for the gangs here to get their hands on such weapons, based on what the KL CID said about gangfight.

It's more likely that some over zealous auntie would knock you off your foot than a grenade going off in the middle of Orchard Road. ;p

Bukit Bintang is a notorious gangster area. I used to visit it when I was in secondary school as there were a Chinese bookshop and two cinemas.

Last time gangsters only fought with knives. Now they are richer and more powerful. Military grade hand grenades are the new toys. Many bystanders will get hurt.
