Kingfisher Hair Ball ?

Caught this kingfisher doing some weird puking action before but never got it captured.

Well today was quite lucky and was able to capture the action right upfront.

Can any experts out there explain this ?

Seems to be hair ball type of actions, just like cats.

Wah Harlequin. Very rare shot indeed. Right place at the right time heh. Hair ball haha. You may be correct there. Anybody know why this bird does this? It would be interesting to find out.
 

If I am not wrong... it could be skeletal remains of fish that cannot be digested. ;)

You could be right.
As for mynahs, i believe it is using ants to eat lice ?

regurgitating is done for undigested remains.. :)

sometimes, they do this while building their nests too!

Indeed a a rare and unusual activity! Never seen a KF done a :ipuke: action before. Well captured Harlequin!
