Make sure u locked away your maid too!
That's pretty offensive to maids.

Back on topic : I was told by a friend that there's is a shortage of physical gold, and google turned up a number of related news on the topic. Cash under pillow is bad for reasons already pointed out (fire, theft) and also is no protection against inflation (not that bank is).

My personal favorite is to pay off more of your existing housing loan.

since govt give gurantee already, put in bank as deposit should be best cause can earn interest and then use the money to buy camera...
put under pillow money shrink due to inflation and no interest to earn... ha ha :)

But then, int rate so very low, like less than 1% or thereabout.

Understand that OZ dollar got something like 6 - 8%. Now OZD more or less on par with SGD.;p

AHEM....

noticed some offensive posts here, is it necessary? ...

Honestly, I don't know what the fuss is all about. I din named any country or race in particular.

If you put large amount of cash under a pillow, surely it would draw 'unwanted' attention from anybody...let alone someone work for a meager salary.

It was meant as a joke! If you can't take it.....banned me please!
