A friend in China recommended kangrinpoche quick release plate to me. It looks good and well made. I checked Cathay Photo, they have the Ballhead but not the quick release plate. Does anyone knows where I can get them? And since it is not cheap, how does this compare to RRS System?

Here is the link to the Quick Release Plate for Nikon D2 and Canon 1Ds MK3 etc.

U may try Orient Photo @ SL.They may order for u if not avaliable on shelf

Thanks everyone for pointing out orient photo. I called them but they QR plate is out of stock. Dead end, do you know which bundle is being sold at Cathay? When I checked there, several weeks ago, the have only the standard Quick release plate

For which camera you r looking for? there are several models.

RRS is better.

If you plan to use quick release clamp on your ballhead you should try to get either Wimberley or RRS QR plates. Other brands have slightly differently widths and would require width adjustments unless you use a normal clamp.

If width is not important you can also buy Markins plates at TK Photo.

they look very well built. their logos copy Lowepro?
