They got a good thing going. I am beginning to suspect they will not proceed with the restoration of original price. Makes no sense since they are making a little money and it seems more people are buying it at this price. :)

Here is my personal opinion... obviously our mileage may vary!

Keep only one of the four greens.
Replace both the reds with DA/DAL 55-300 f/4.0-5.8
Keep only one of the two blues.

Price will always go down... eventually. If you want it to be significantly cheaper, just wait for next camera launch. But we all know how "soon" Pentax releases new DSLRs, so can wait long-long. :bsmilie:

A +/- $100 difference from CNY price shouldn't matter much. Buy now and have fun with the K-7 instead of waiting around for the next price reduction. If really on a tight budget, buy older 2nd hand models. You can't put a price on memories. ;)

But I pity those who bought it early. The price drop is too scary...=S
Wah! don't like this leh! The salt on the wound sure is painful :)
Some self consolation here .... If the early adopters don't give the initial push for K7, I think by now Emjay give up on Pentax already and late comers won't enjoy the benefits we now see ;)

I'd advise to stay on K20 for now. K7 is too similar to justify a $1.4K swap. You should be demanding a leap in improvements like Kx based NR algo, higher flash sync speed (eg. 1/250), possibly better DR and better AF-C. Actually its hard to want more from a K7 already.

Technology will continue to improve; question is whether there is a technical break-through; and if there is; the pricing will be extreme as well; before coming down. R&D is not cheap, and companies need to recoup the investment. For us as consumer - is ENJOY while we can. One can wait and wait and wait longer. Eventually, someone else will use your cash! Buy now, enjoy the K-7; buy more lenses...go out, take photos, enjoy more

No la...my intention is not to rub salt on those who bought it earlier...I wanna highlight the way they market Pentax equipment. When i bought my k20d at least the price stay there till quite long before K7 was launch but K7 suddenly have a promo and after that they decide to keep the price there which is not a nice thing to do despite the fact that we all know body price do drop but I didn't expect it to drop that fast

But at least the Kx is gaining ground with the wide range of colour.
