K-7 awarded Good Design Award

The Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organization (JIDPO) announced the results of the Good Design Awards 2009 and the Pentax K-7 was one of several cameras under the "digital camera with interchangeable lenses" category to be recognized for good design.

Submitted for consideration was the K-7, smc PENTAX-DA18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AL WR, smc PENTAX-DA50-200mm f/4-5.6 ED WR and the D-BG4 battery grip.

But I, and many others, don't have a problem with that.

It's possible yours is a (very) minority opinion? (ie. that the VF LED read-outs are not good enough).

Mmm. I think good design here means user-friendly and pleasing to the senses (visual, tactile), which may or may not necessarily involve good engineering.
