K-01 rubber opening at battery lid for?

Just saw this today, anyone know why there is a rubber opening at the lid of the battery compartment?

Lots of compact cameras have this feature. All the Panasonic camera have. I thought it only let you see inside got battery a not. But i find opening the lid is faster... I also dunno why. Ha.

Actually the rubber opening at the battery lid is for another optional accessory use. To allow an accessory to connect to the power cable instead and use it rather than using the battery when using showing video streaming from the camera.
Can't remember the exact words which is written in the K-01 Manual.
