For those who are not familiar with things Leica: the early Leica M cameras (M3, M2 and M4) were covered by a kind of very brittle material known as "vulcanite". Over the years, most of these classic M cameras would have broken/imperfect vulcanite. Even if one is to send it back to Leica/Germany for a replacement, what is replaced is just a PVC covering and it costs some S$150!
A smart Janpenese comes up with all kind of leathette replacement for these classic cameras, at a fraction of what Leica is charging. One of them is this genuine white python skin which is from a huge snake of more than 10ft. I ordered one set for my 50-year-old M3 and the result is just awesome! (well, you either love it or hate it, and I'm OK with that :bsmilie: )
