using a sony tripod..
thinking of getting a gitzo, but seem like an overkill.. but the release plate on the sony seem to be sliding around even if i tighten using a coin, regardless F717 or F828

i handhold all the time except for when

(1) doing "classic" late evening landscapes
(2) any telephoto longer or faster than 400mm/f5.6

when u comes to tripods i just choose anything that the wind doesnt blow over and that will suffice

Have one four year old Slik tripod & one Gitzo Explorer tripod. ;p

I am using a Gitzo CF tripod, after plenty of help and advises.
The weight is .. :bigeyes: :bigeyes: :bigeyes: .. supan light and easy to carry around.
Esp, travelling and backpacking where every grams counts.

the tripod you use depend on what camera or more specifically how heavy your system is and how the weather is like.

I use a simple digital camera so I got a no brand cheapo tripod.

Even if i get a heavier system, as long as it can take the weight and it is stable can liao.

Dun need to care if it is velbon or what..
