Basically Lynas is an OZ mining company, they just started operating a rare earth processing plant in Pahang, Malaysia.
There are concerns about the potential health hazards as processing of rare earths produces some nuclear waste.
Some NGOs (aided by certain political parties) have been very vocal about it.
