I think what Splutter is trying to say is that she has loosed squeezed skin creating crease as her head is forced to turn towards you. Thus having the unsightly folding of skin in unnatural positions.

If I were on a date with her (dream on) I would never ever complain about them, but offer to kiss each one.

But, from a photography point of view, I do agree with you. Some careful pp on the freckles would help here.
