Hi all,

I would like to seek some advice on the following camera models:

IXUS 860IS
Lumix FX55
Lumix FX100
Lumix LX2

I am a DSLR user and I wanted to get the IXUS 860IS. I am confuse over the Lumix models and I have identify the 3 models for selection.

I would preferred to have a wide angle lense and have some manual controls.

LX2 is in different class compare to FX series and to me it is belong to prosumer because it packed with full manual control like DSLR.

I think LX2 is the one you need :)

LX2 or Ixus 860 :)

LX2's mini joystick for manual control is a breeze, not forgetting the true 16:9 2.8" lcd but screen quality goes to ixus860's 3" lcd.playback/review speed on canon is also faster. manual settings on canon very leychey. custom WB better/easier on LX2. think girls wld prefer ixus more :) cos can use own start up themes like fav photos, music etc..

I owned a LX2 and now trying to sell it to get a IXUS 860 instead:)
Just posted a thread a while ago on the forum.

LX2 has alot more manual features, and i bought it for this reason.
But it is not as friendly in usage as compared to IXUS 860.

Canon output in terms of color is nicer, maybe bcos i have a preference for Canon all along.

The LX2 is a very, very nice camera to use. Great for manual controls. It's definitely good to have this.

If U want manual controls on Canon models, try A650IS/S5IS/G9.

If you are using a canon DSLR, get an IXUS.. You will feel more comfortable, ya
