Is Zhiyun Crane allowed onboard airplane?

Has anyone been stopped for Crane or any other gimbal in their carry-ons?

I brought the original crane along for two trips. Once to HK and then to China, wasn't stopped once, no eyes batted. I had to take my camera/laptop out at Pudong airport, but they didn't mention anything about the gimbal.

Sadly, I didn't have time to use it, it seems too deliberate to use for short trips.

When I ordered it, the batteries had to be shipped by sea. Not by air.
