Hi...

Just to ask whether is it normal for this lens to have 2 slight humming noise before and after it focuses on a subject when the IS mode is on?

it's normal
movement of mechanism...
the IS lens inside just adjusting itself
the same goes for 75-300 IS USM

The humming noise is normal. Not really audible other than the photographer ( eyes on viewfinder).

To confirm, try this, when you hear the humming, without taking your eyes off the view finder, turn the IS off, and the noise disappear.

I've observed this "soft humming" with various IS lenses, from 28-135 IS, high end 500mm & 600mm L IS.
