Coffee is a provened diuretic and in substantial quantities can be harmful in the long run.

I hardly drink a cup of coffee in a week, unless the office pantry runs out of drinks.
Usually go for green tea or chrysanthemum tea.

Lower coffee consumption to 1-2 per day would not be too harmful for the body.

Too much of anything is bad for you.

I used to smoke... but now I have quit.
Coffee is my only source of stimulant now, and I only have 2 cups a day.
It perks me up and keep me happy. More importantly, I love the taste.
Coffee is a diuretic... but I drink so much water, it doesn't really matter.
Coffee is also a mild laxative. So I almost never get constipation.

So I say... give me coffee or give me death!

Thanks. :)

For what it's worth, it was very very difficult. I succeeded only after 2 or 3 tries. So, no shame if you fail... just don't give up.

I've been smoke free for about 3-4 years now. :)

I did not quit to save money... but rather the tar was weighing my lungs down. I felt congested from time to time. I needed to keep quite fit to feel generally ok. When I fell sick, it felt like hell, especially when you need to smoke when you are having a cough. I'm glad those days are behind me.

But... smoking was actually damn shiok. :bsmilie:

A friend of mine once told me that he had too much blood in his caffeine system :bsmilie:

I take 2 cups a day. Used to take 4-5 cups. Office has one of those machines that grinds the beans and then makes the coffee fresh. I recently found out why I get headaches on from Saturday night until Monday night. It was because I did not get my fix during weekends!!

Since then I cut down a little as I didn't want this kind of dependency.
