Say I see a domain name of a site I want to use but currently it's owned by another person. The lease for this domain ends say this coming June. Can I buy the rights now which enables me to use the domain name once the current lease expires? Is this possible? TIA.

.com, .net, .org, .gov, etc. all diff

u can be the owner of abc.com but somebody else can own the rights to abc.net n somebody else .org, etc.

in some cases, even the country suffix matters. like how a certain popular local radio station, when without a .sg, becomes a pornographic website.
