So is there a clubsnap like forum where I can post stuff/rants about cameras and join shoots and events and meet ups and workshops and etc?

Why sucks? There's way more photography opportunity here and the art scene is way more prominent.
Potn & CR. There are frequent Adobe events held at their office either in SF or SJ. Google around for meet ups. Meet ups are held frequently around the bay area.
