er..just casual shooting..
iam on a tight budget actually..
$1000 for the set..
i was around Sim Lim and this uncle was saying $880..
tempted..but not sure whether is ok or not to buy..
and seeing so many reviews on d60..not to easy to make a conclusion.

save a budget for lens (min. $150) and accessories (min. $100 for cards, battery, lenspen, filter).
for casual shooting, consider a 2nd hand of price range $500-700 in BNS. you can search there to get a feel of price and models available. dun get deceived that how come a 2nd hand model 4 years ago cost about the same as the new model now, becos they still can do more than the new model. price list can check out the newbie guide in my sig.
whether worth or not, depends on your budget. most of the DSLR models are reasonable and graded by their performance/features, and the cost-value ratio usually only become apparent between professional and non-professional requirements.
for cheapest lens, consider 2nd hand AF-S kit zoom lens (e.g. 18-55mm various models) or a 50mm AF-D standard lens (cannot autofocus on D40, 40x, 60) or a third party lens (sigma, tamron, tokina). these lenses cost about 150-600. slightly more specialised lens cost 600-1000. decent lens of balanced versatility and performance cost 1000-2000. gd fast lens cost >2k. as a rough guide.
$880 for the D60 kit or just the D60 body? When in SLS... just got to be careful... you can find quite a number of posts of people kenna chop carrot there...
The thing about SLS.. is they will quote without GST. Then will ask u to buy this filter.. but that flash.. and super high price. Advice is know what u want.. the price and dun be sucked into the sales talk.

Do note that D60 has no in-built AF motor, meaning the Autofocus is reliant on lenses and not all lenses have in-built AF motors. Buying a DSLR is not just buying the body, you got to make sure you know what you want to do with it as well and then plan the type of lenses you intend to buy.
I suggest you compare the prices of Nikkor lenses and other brands.
P.S. Nikkor lenses that have in-built motors have the term AF-S attached to it
