Hi all,

I'm a newbie for digital color correction, would like to ask whether is 8-bits per color photo compatible to be use in an Adobe RGB (1998) model?
or should I be using 16-bits for this color model instead?

I've chosen Adobe RGB (1998) instead of sRGB model because i intend to print out the digital images from my printer.

Can someone advice me on this issue? Thanks a lot and have a nice day.

Yes but you get coarser gradients than in sRGB.
Also, don't bother unless you've got an AdobeRGB-capable monitor and everything calibrated.

Don't you also need an Adobe RGB (1998) capable printer as well?

Check the Digital Darkroom section, the questions are discussed there regularly and you'll find lots of information about colourspace. In short: use sRGB for everything, don't bother about others.

thank you for all your replies :) really appreciate so much
I'll check out in the darkroom corner for more info.

Have a nice week ahead! cheers
