Hi,

It has been quite a while since we had any courses for newbies, so I'm thinking of doing one if there are enough people interested.

Vanue: Fort Canning Park (meet at Fort Gate)
Date & time: 15/5/04 and 22/5/04 (Sat) 2pm-4pm
Cost: FREE!

Things to share:
1. ISO, aperture and shutter, and how to count stops.
2. Basic metering techniques.
3. Basic flash photography.
4. Basic composition.
5. Any other things under the sun (and shadows) that you might be interested.

For newbies only as I would think experienced photographers would find it quite boring. Also to clarify that I'm not a pro, just an amateur sharing some notes. :)

Please put down your nick if you are interested. Ideal group size is about 10.

List for 22/5/04:

1. Gymrat76
2. Brandon
3. wodypeck
4. AlvicTay
5. Mr Arowana + Mrs Arowana
6. mmml222
7. cs_sim + friend
8. bLight
9. jeffwy2k
10. bleu (not available on 15/5/04)

List for 15/5, same time, same place:

1. chEbyshEv
2. etgoh
3. icer
4. denis
5. snapboy
6. surfersp
7. csy
8. Vamptress
9. Vanisia
10. nicholaslee
11. Convoy

All slots taken. Apologise for not able to take in any more as it would be too many people for me to take care during the hands on.

[Update on 14/5]

For all the members attending the fisrt session (15/5, tomorrow 2-4pm), please remember to bring:

1. Your camera.
2. A print out copy of the notes and the DOF wheel.
3. Pen/pencil.
4. A bottle of water for yourself.

If you'd like to clarify some of the things related to your camera or equipment, please bring along their manuals too. You are also encourage to bring along some of your photos to share with us. See you there tomorrow.

FOC for all newbies?

I'm interested (and prob my wife too). Will go if I manage to get my D70 before then.. :D When is the last day to confirm plz?

Hmm... how about the day before 22/5? You can come without a camera too, but of course it is best if you bring a camera with you.

OK, put me in then.. hopefully the D70 got stock before then!

Err, maybe also put in some basic info on how to care for the camera? Such as how to clean lens properly, or clean CCD etc.. Would be very useful info for newbie like me! :)

Thanks!

Go! Go! Go!

The basics apply to all sorts of camera, be it p&s, consumer, prosumer, slr, RF in digital or film format! You would take better pictures when you know more... :D

Thanks The_Cheat for the answer. Yup your camera does not matter, and you can come even without a camera. :D
