when did they threaten his whole family?
can you quote the sources?
Read some of the articles. They chased down the particulars of his family members, revealed them and opened up an avenue to let others to threaten them both online and offline.

I wouldn't be surprised if this goes down the same way of Anton Casey that he has to flee for his family's wellbeing.

Anyways to sum it up, people in Singapore on the net are all complaining and whining how lousy CASE is and not doing anything, or how weak the law is against such cases. I proposed a solution earlier.

If you have no way of actually trying to make the law better by giving suggestions and have a mature discussion, and would rather choose to glorify neanderthal practices and harassment tactics, then it just shows what kind of character you are.

I don't side Jover nor his staff, and i believe he should be severely punished. But taking matters into their own hands and breaking the law to enact social justice? How is that different from the social justice that rival gangs meted out on each other and caused some deaths and serious injuries in the past few years?

The only good outcome in this matter is that the authorities and SLS are coming down harder on such people and things are finally moving. But really, did our education and morality have to take a nose dive for it to happen?

Nice speech but it's kinda aged.

Perhaps you can do us all a favour. Stand in the middle of SLS with a loud speaker and see if you can bore those rogue traders out of business with your politically correct drivels.

Have you picked up coins(your money) thrown to you on the floor, in front of the public? and being videoed at the same time?

Have you been led to kneeled to beg for your money back after being misled to sign for a warranty that cost thousands that was not supposed to?

Maybe you should try both before you type on your high horse.

The very law that you said we should follow is the exact same law that has betrayed us.

You think these internet renegades would appear from no where if these very basic humane laws were enforced to protect consumers?

Im not siding either side. Im not defending either sides.
They are what they are.

if you consider it drivel, if the bill of law as i suggested is passed, then it's no longer drivel and they will take notice of it.

you should do yourself a favor and don't just keep picking on the aged argument that nothing will change. things can change, but it appears that you're not willing to embrace it but rather would like to keep harping that it can never be.

you have already taken a side, with reference to your speech. you're implying that its justified that the boss of the shop got his just deserts.

i've had money thrown at me before in public and man, i wanted to slug that guy there and then.

by the way, the law has not betrayed us. to make it betrayal it would have to be that the law was misused against us in the first place. it would have been better to say "the law was not comprehensive enough to protect us".

also these renegades as you call them know the law too. and they know that they can get away with what they've done. are you not scared that if anger them by accident, they might do the same to you?

by the way, it's the same old argument with you all here who support such incidents.

you comment so much, but propose nothing to rectify the issue.

i take my hats off to you all who think that everyone who is rational is on their high horses. have a pleasant nightmare of a life ;)

Good. Go SLS, tell those rouge traders change is coming their way. They better embrace it. They better close shop. They better hide. Tell that Viet dude to come buy his iphone when change is here. Tell that lady to ask for a refund when change is here(no pun intended).

Then what is your suggestion? Come down from your high horse and be specific.
LET IT BE IS MY SUGGESTION.

since the law can't do anything to protect us, there will be people who will protect themselves.

the way to rectify it is to implement the customer protection law already in place by CASE.
has it?!

if people wanna fight fire with fire, which is what it is now, i say go ahead! which is not taking sides from my perspective.

Then again, it's understandable why he's shocked.

Ivory Tower is very far away from Sim Lim Square.
kei seems to live there too

if you think the law way broken by "harassment " or vigilante action please feel free to make a police report.

So you are supporting unlawful behaviour as it has occurred?
