Hi, I'm planning of getting one and thinking of spending not more than $300.

Any good models I should consider and what other factors do I also need to consider?

Sorry for the newbie questions cos I'm relatively new to all these ...

Thanks in advance!

adam - try petrol kiosks. almost all have started selling them already.

if not, you can get it over at sgcamerastore outlet at peninsula. i got mine there.

Some of the features, day n night colour recording, inside and outside view recording, motion detection auto recording. Autobacs, Giant @ Tampines, petrol station, IT show, downtown east carpark car wash etc are the places I saw selling ranging from $90 to $300. Prices drop a lot recently 120-200 get get a very good spec recorder now.

Go for HD (1080p) if possible, currently mine is VGA with front and back camera but serve the purpose if only I am close enough to the vehicle.
GPS is a nice to have but not crucial to have if you are not going to spend more than $300.

A good place to read on is mycarforum, look for "In Car Recorder" and you get your all questions answered there :)
