Hi,

I'm using a Ixus II with limited manual functions.

I have been using it to take pictures at night functions using auto mode

Problem is with flash on, the people usually come out with face looking very shiny and the background really dark.

If i do not use the flash, the image looks more natural without the shiny faces and dark background, but a lil' on the dark side and will become blurred without very steady hands.

How should I set the manual function ( exposure, shutter speed, ISO etc) to get a good pic?

Tks in adv!

I am using a Canon A75. For mind I use the night protrait mode (a pic of a human with a star at the top right coner) in this situation. Tell your friend not to move even after flash until their pic appear on the LCD to prevent blur image. I think that your cam also have the function. Play around with your cam and check it out...;)
