Hi fellow cs'ers,

I have a general question. Nowadays illegal parking and waiting along narrow 2-way roads are getting out of hand. Just because these are not in CBD areas, the traffic police are hardly seen around. I often take pictures of cars stopping along these narrow roads, when I cannot get through and reverse all the way out (if no cars at the back). The common culprits are taxis. Does anyone know where to report these cases, sending to LTA/traffic police does not seem to work ie any specific govt agencies who will really act on this problem? :(

manpower issue, really.

i remember an accident scene. a taxi had suddenly made a right turn without looking for oncoming traffic. an LTA officer on a motorcycle was in the opposite lane and hit him and flew.

while the officer lay there in pain, the taxi driver got out and hurled abuse at the man for hitting and damaging his cab.

all the bystanders who witnessed the accident went forward and told the crabby cabby to back off from the injured man. i walked over to where the cabby was verbally abusing a caucasian lady for helping the officer, and told him to back off.

people these days tsk tsk.

Reporting of Illegal Parking

Anyone who wishes to lodge a report on illegal parking must submit the following details/information to LTA:

a. Vehicle particulars
Key vehicle information to be included are the vehicle registration number, type of vehicle (eg, motorcycle, car, etc), make, model and colour of the vehicle.

b. Offence details

Key offence details to be included are the date, time, location and nature of alleged offence (eg. parking along unbroken double yellow lines, parking along single white zig-zag line, etc).

c. Confirmation of willingness to testify in court should the offender dispute the alleged offence

This refers to the submitter's willingness to testify in court should the offender disputes and decides to challenge the case in court.

d. Full particulars of the feedback provider
This refers to the full name (as in NRIC or passport), NRIC or passport number, residential address, contact number (residential/office number can be accepted but a mobile number is preferred) and email address. Accurate information is required so that we could contact the submitter to verify the reported information and in the event of a court trial, to request for his presence in court.

e. Photo/video evidence
Photo and/or video evidence submitted in relation to the offence must be sufficiently clear so as to identify the vehicle (especially the vehicle registration number) and nature of the alleged offence (road markings or traffic sign prohibiting parking at the location).

f. Accurate information to be provided

We regret that LTA will be unable to process the report in the absence of any of the above detailed information.

To report on illegal parking, submit the violation report online. Please note that a SingPass account is required for login.

Please click here for the FAQs on submission of violation report online.

g. Report Form
Please attach the photograph of the motor vehicle showing clearly the vehicle registration number and the specific traffic sign or road marking prohibiting parking at the location.

manpower issue, really.......

I am not sure it is entirely manpower. I thought LTA has contracted out illegal parking to private companies? It is true you don't see LTA police on the road nowadays. They are deployed more for escort of VIPs and official functions.

I wonder can the SPF also act on behalf of LTA or they are separate companies? While the NPP walks or patrol around, surely they can double up. In private companies, cleaners, security officers will report any defects to maintenance rather then waiting for customers to report them.

priest give chance maybe one day you may need to park in a hurry.
last year i tio summon just 1 day away from CNY Eve. Really spoiled my New Year celebrations. Ironically I parked there because the main parking area was TOO congested and I would have contributed to the jam in that area.

and for all the slacker motorist - please park properly as far as possible... don't misuse the generosity of road-wardens.

Some weeks ago, when there was a wake at the void deck of the HDB, every Tom, Dick and Harry attending the wake had o park the car just next to it, blocking the service road and the entrance to rubbish chute. All this while the MSCP is just 3min walking away. What drives these lazy idiots to do this? Do they need an accident in the family and an ambulance being stuck on the road to learn? Maybe ..
Snap pictures and report, but don't post on this idiotic website of Stomp. It only creates clicks and money for SPH, they earn money from the problems of other people for the entertainment of the brainless.
