Hi,

I have been tasked a take a group photo of 40 people. Just would like to hear a general view of your setup and settings if to take shots for indoor or outdoor and what are the things to take note.
Thanks :)

try not to arrange people in straight rows...
remember that wide-angle distortion can make the people at the ends look fatter.
make sure the lighting across the whole group is even. if uneven, avoid putting darker-skinned people in the darker spots.

important is enough DOF and enough light (bounced if you have a ceiling to bounce off)
if you have more than one flash would be better. CLS??

High ceiling? the the center ppl will produce hash shadows if direct flash is used?

if the job pays enough, bring studio lights with umbrellas (at least 2)
or wireless flash with umbrellas

harsh shadows is secondary, you need even lighting.
