I sign up 10mbps but....

i dont know if you all face the problem by singnet...

i paid $84 for 10mbps + Mio TV (Free) and i recently getting ridiculous download speed.



as you can see my download speed is only like 1mbps (after rounding off) and my latency is 220ms. Its like my computer is in China and surfing singapore webby. :angry:
And i realize one thing.. the download speed not consistent. Will have 2mbps .. maybe sometime 4 or 5 . worst i ever had was 0.4mbps.. that is even worst than 512k broadband.

I'm really loosing faith in singnet after using them for 10 over years. Before that i was using aztech modem and it serve me well, after changing to mio box... everything changed.. Disconnection , Auto-Restart , high latency and slow internet connection. :thumbsd:

anyone have the same problem? was using the internet last night and the whole thing disconnects.:thumbsd:

mine disconnected 2 nights ago, till nw, my internet still down. Keep calling 1688, and they keep asking me to change the filter, telephone cord blah blah....And finally finally the service tech will be coming down today to service. Their Respond time is really slow, and they take 2 working days to reach my place....seem like all these happen after tey gave me the free Mio TV.....

Test done not long after u have posted .. 1st test results shown, ran a 2nd test not long after to confirm that 1st test is not fluke and results are similar to the 1st test

Nothing fantastic , just your run of the mill 8Mb starhub plan ..

Wondering if the ping have anything to do with my computer?

Dam irritating leh cannot get consistent ping like 10- 20+

previously i use aztech modem to do gaming, my latency was only 5-15. never go above 20. and during that time i using 6mbps..

Am experiencing my web browser going down for about a week! ;(

My downloads on torrents, MSN working but browser is always down, no idea why.

Tried, safari, chrome, firefox, IE. All sama problem

my case just now was unable to connect to proxy server.

Just tested, this is my M1 15mbps, not 10mbps but still can see the speed..
Somemore can sign 6mths trial at $46.80...

Try go control panel > network connections > Right click Local Area Connections > Properties > Under general search for INTERNET Protocol (TCP /IP) > single click it > click on properties > Ip Address set to obtain IP address automatically > Use the following DNS server addresses

Prefered DNS Server : 165.21.83.88
Alternate DNS Server : 165.21.100.88

try this method. ( FOR SINGNET user only)

If proxy Setting problem..

Go to IE > Internet Option > Connections > Lan Settings > Tick Proxy Server Box > type address : proxy.singnet.com.sg type Port :8080 > click ok & refresh

or are you the only user

last time, when i was sharing modem with another household i don't know what they do, i think they download a lot of porn, then the latency would look like that.

then i locked them out happily when i got fed up, since the router details are with me.. and very very happy, super fast. :cheergal:

im not downloading anything.. just surfing and gaming. ( but close my games when im testing the ping ).

But yet again im using desktop and its direct connection from modem.. still confused why my ping is so high.

using wireless, or direct connection?

if the first, grab an ethernet cable, and plug direct.

if it is the same, call singnet. can be a lot of problems, might be line problem, might be modem problem. if they try to send linesmen down, and the line is tested to be ok, DON'T LET THEM try to test your line again.

there was a period of time where they sent linesmen down to my place on 8 different occasions. i got fed up, told the guy on the line that i wanted to speak to his manager, and then end up send linesman down a 9th time.

the next day i called and asked to talk to the supervisor of that guy, insisted on it. then told him he should know that his staff was a joke and it reflected poorly on his ability as a supervisor. just kept repeating myself deliberately so that he would get very pek chek, for 20 plus minutes.

next day, chop chop send down new modem to try, settled. :thumbsup: right now still ok.

try resetting your modem also.

err suppose to be another way round.. do the setting on ur IE first.. if still not working.. do the Local Area Connection settings.
