It multiples your focal length -> zoom further :)

For example, the 1.7x Olympus B-300 Teleconverter lens.

Ur C-2040z has a 3x zoom lens, by attaching the B-300 TC, it'll extend ur zoom to 3 x 1.7 = 5.1x.

Nerdie, u got ur lens adapter already or not???

U'll need the adapter + a step-up ring to attach a TC.

The Olympus C-210 1.9x TC is abt $70 and has a thready size of 52mm.

I hope this is not a stupid qn. The c-210 1.9 tc can be used for g2 or not?

Silly question...what actually is a lens adaptor? Why some cams need it and some dont?

Yes, it can, and it'll effectively extend the optical zoom range to 5.1x from 3x.

But best if u could test the C-210 on ur Canon G2 b4 purchase to see if there is any vignetting problem. :)

Some DC have thread on their lens, allowing u to screw on a filter, step-up ring or converter lens directly. For example, the Olympus C-2100UZ has a thread size of 49mm while the Canon Pro 90 IS has a thread size of 58mm.

Other DCs do not have any lens thread, and have to attach a lens adapter onto the DC's body in order to facilitate the use of a add-on lens/filter. For example, the Olympus C-20x0z/C-30x0z/C-4040z or the Canon A10/A20.

Note, not all DC w/o lens thread supports the use of a lens adapter. For example, the Olympus C-40z or the Canon IXUS don't have this option.

i just bought a 41mm -37mm lens adaptor.....from AP

Technically, u can stack all u can.

But practically, u should have only one filter or lens at any time to prevent any deterioration in pix quality.

so is that 1 LENS or 1 FILTER

or 1 LENS + 1 FILTER

Best is 1 lens or 1 filter at any one time.....this is to prevent any degradation in pix quality which may happen the more layers of glass light has to pass thru.

Of course in certain situations, say when using a WAC, u can stack a UV filter or cir polz onto of it.....but the rule is still not to stack too many layers to minimize chance of vignetting or pix degradation.

WAC = ?

erm, and how much does a closeup filter cost??
