Digicam take night shots will be very noisy (digital noise), u would also need some software to reduce the digital noise on photos.

Buy a DSLR,Nikon D50:devil:

Anyone there?

the reason why nobody replied is because your post shows the amount (rather lack off) research that you've done for yourself.

perhaps if you want more replies, tell us what do you want in your camera, and what is your main purpose for it.

also budget and brand preference would help us narrow your choice down.

first and foremost, do your own research on the cameras that might interest you.

here are some sights to get you started

http://www.photographyreview.com/
http://www.dpreview.com/
http://www.digitalcamera-hq.com/
http://www.steves-digicams.com/DEFAULT.HTM

that should be enough for now.

as much zoom as possible....
6 or 5 megapixels
SD card
not too bulky. no DSLR
images as 'natural' as possible...
scene modes.
nice night shots

:)
Any recomendations?
Thanks!

Budget below $1100. Nothing more.

It states in the specifications that F11's min shutter speed is 3 sec. Is that enough then, with the high iso making up for the rest of iT? just wondering.

IMHO the A620 seems to perform very good at high ISO... sounds like a good choice for night photography..

Hopefully some A620 user can post their image here...

I've since shortlisted:

Olympus SP 500 UZ
Canon Powershot S2 IS
Canon Powershot A620

Thought you said no bulky cameras? The S2 IS and SP500 us both kinda huge. have you checked out the Fuji F11 ?
