there're no cheap and good ones except for the $70 1.9x Olympus C-210. But this C-210 only work for cameras with a small lens.

Yours perform only as a real 1.6x teleconverter and result in too much distortion and degradation in image quality.

hi mpenza...
What do you mean by small lens ? C4000 lens small enuff ?
ours is a 41 mm thread

The Olympus C-210 fits onto 52mm filter threads, but because of its shape and design it tends to vignette a lot more than, say, the A-200 and B-300. Not sure how it will perform on the C-4000, but so far I've heard that all previous Camedia cameras experience vignetting with the C-210 even at full zoom, so this should also be the case with the C-4000.

Btw although the C-4000 has a 41mm filter thread, with the CLA-1 adaptor installed it becomes a 43mm filter thread. :)

Mid night! you are always around when i am around! :D
another question to ask :p
if i get an adaptor, a filter, do i need to get another adaptor for my C210? like a 41 to 52 mm adaptor ? or 41 to 43 to 52 mm ? (sort of like on top of each other?)

Thanks!

Hi Blankies. Assuming you get the CLA-1 lens adaptor tube, you will have 43mm filter threads. All you need then is a 43mm->52mm (or whatever) step-up ring to mount any auxiliary lenses, filters or other such accessories you want.

Having said that, though, step-up rings with a rear diameter of 43mm are a little hard to find, but most of the better shops in Singapore (CP, AP, etc) have 43->46mm and 43->52mm rings and perhaps a few other sizes. If you can't get a step-up ring to go directly to the filter thread size you want, you can then put a second step-up ring (eg. 46->55mm) on top of the first one. The main disadvantage is that this increases the risk of vignetting.

The the more adapters we have the longer the tube is and mine already gettting in the way of my flash.... And i only got the lense adapter , a Setp Up ring and a UV filter...
