I have realized it is always good to carry a tripod.

Is it morally justified to pick wild flower, tie to tripod and shoot?

When I shoot at longer shutter I can use tripod.
When I shoot wild flowers, I can pick a branch and tie it to the tripod
then shoot with the clear sky as background. ;p Am I morally justified?

Can you fix it back after you shoot?

Btw, if I just want to shoot a models's hand, can I chop it down and shoot? :bsmilie:

Err.. IIRC one of the CSer here did use his monopod for self defense during his photo journalism assignment in India, and smashed the guy head with his Nikon F F5 till his nose bleed.

I will install the tripod with a motor and fix on my hat, then spin it arround
when I go to China and create my 1 meter diameter personal space. Hand
choppers party, cheaters, burglers and smugglers will never reach me, haha.

Hi guys,

Why doesn't someone start a poll ...."Do you use your tripod for your camera only"
List a few obvious answers and include "other"

Then I could reply that I hang my towel over it to dry when I go for a swim.

My tripod is always with me where ever I go; it lives on the back seat in my car.

:nono: No no. Please don't do that. As a nature photogs, you shldn't cause any damage to the beauty of the natural environment. If every photogs are like that, you can imagine how the botanic garden will looks like in a year. :bsmilie:

I will invent some machine arms which can stretch out and help stabilize
the flowers, using the tripod as the base. Four fishing reels, three on the
legs, one on the tripod mount. Slightly tighten up the four wires and create
a stable structure to stablize the flower.

I hardly ever carry my tripod out unless I know I'm going to do night-scenery shoots. I do carry a monopod for self defense also, especially when going to old, abandoned places alone.

Tripod really opens up a lot of shooting options and opportunity, I think it's very important and useful.. but man, I really hate to carry them around.
Somemore, even when I did, I'm often too lazy to set it up.. :embrass:
