Am torn, dunno which ultra wide angle suits me better ? btw, am using APS-C cameras, Nikon has the best range but slower lens, Tokina 12-24 is 2mm narrower (10 degrees different), has good range and speed (just one f/stop away from the fastest brother lens), really hard time deciding which to choose, wonder what are the considerations to get a UWA, appreciate any help ... thanks.

Nikon AF-S 10-24mm F3.5-4.5G DX
Tokina AT-X 116 PRO DX AF 11-16mm f/2.8
Tokina AT-X 124 PRO DX II AF 12-24mm f/4
Sigma 10-20mm F4-5.6 EX DC HSM
Sigma 10-20mm F3.5 EX DC HSM

If you are not only using the uwa for landscape, I would say the 11-16. The f2.8 is useful for indoor group photo and situations in low light, plus, it's a very sharp lens.

My vote goes to 11-16mm as well because I'm a user.

But I've also tried 10-24mm and find it great. The F/2.8 from tokina is the attractive factor among all lens here.

The Tokina AT-X 124 on my D90 vignette SERIOUSLY at 12mm under all but the brightest light conditions. Plus very noticeable barrel distortion.

Plus suggest you read: http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/how-to-use-ultra-wide-lenses.htm - esp. the section "Getting it all in".

finally got a 11-16mm .... superb :)

Marketing thread ....??

I just brought sigma 8-16, b4 I have nikon 12-24. I found this sigma lens is very fun to use.

Hi, what do you mean by fun to use?

I think probably he meant by creative?

I don't always use the UWA for "proper" landscapes shots, but sometimes for 大头照 or for other effects....can be quite fun.
