Hungry ghost festival and wedding

1st Aug is the hungry ghost festival.

Does it really affect the biz of a wedding photographer? Was told by some friends, they have more free time during this period as take up is slow.

Yes it does.

Singapore has a large Chinese Majority and for Chinese getting married during 7th month is a major taboo. So there are almost no weddings during this time. Hence hotels are known to aggressively sell their conference halls for events during this time.

actually ... these days.. though 7th month is not popular for weddings, there are still quite a number of weddings and ROMs..

Nope, actually hasn't affected us. Strangely, August is going to be the busiest month of the year for me so far. But then again, our clients are quite niche.
