I don't know whether it's a good idea to post this, but I find it damn funny.
In summary, HP webcam fails to perform face tracing of individuals with darker skin tone (black people)

I think it is more like not enough contrast on the whole face so they cannot trace
like cant recognise that it is a face

Whoever did their face tracking didn't think too hard, so they'll need to re-think the software.

The developer probably didn't try testing it on anyone but Caucasians.

face recognition algorithm got to do with black and white pixel. probably the algo only see black pixel hence no processing..

The face detection technology is built on standard algorithms that measure the difference in intensity of contrast between certain features of a face such as the eyes and the upper cheek and nose. If there are insufficient foreground lighting, the camera might have difficulty 'seeing' contrast and therefore not recognizing the face.
