it's around $10 for the uv filter :)

I got my Hoya HMC 58mm UV for $20 from John 3:16.

Dun think its so expensive for a 58mm.

BTW, makan, the best glass are from Germany, not Japan.

hahah..i think u also make the same mistake as myself...

he is asking for HOYA UV filter and not polariser!!

anyway, B+W MRC UV filter is abt $44 only...

Hoya Multi coated Cir-Polariser is also abt $40 (AP offer me $3X) but i am thinking of getting just 2nd hand.

in short...
multi-coated allows more light (99% or more?) to pass thru the lens, as the lens will reflect less light

non-multi coated will reflect more light, thus the image will be darker...

that's why i always recommend pple to get B+W MRC UV filter for their F707...else it defeat the purpose of the fast Carl Zeiss lens it uses.
