Hi All,

how to write the copyright symbol in PS?
It should be a combination of keys, but I don't remember.

Any hint? Thanks.

Cheers:)

Press and hold 'Alt' key before typing in 0169 to give your "©"

Hi Squid, tks for the feedback.
I just try this but no positive result. It means nothing there. No character at all?!?
Strange.

Cheers :)

This is the symbol I get: ○
It doesn't looks like ©, this is very strange.

For the moment, if you are using Microsoft Windows XP, try this method :

1. Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Character Map
2. From the chosen font type, locate the character ©
3. Click "SELECT" and then "COPY" to transfer character to clipboard
4. Goto Photoshop and paste accordingly.

another more easy way:

Just copy the © from this topic and paste it in the ps text.

Ok Squid tks a lot. By getting the symbol from the Character Map it works.
Even I cannot understand whay ALT+0169 is not working!

The character map show the sequence U+00A9 as mentioned by catchlights.

Thanks you very much. Appreciated.

If you are using a laptop, you must use the Fn Key, To NmLock then use the jkluio789 keys as your number pad. Remember, ascii codes ONLY WORKS with the numbers input from the Number Pad Keys.

I see. Yes I'm using laptop. Now I know the reason.
Thank a lot for the details.

Cheers:)

A handy bit of info there , thank you :)

I would like to thank you all for the suggestions and contributions.
I got the solution and also learned something by this.

As mentioned by Andy Ang the Ascii code works only when the numbers input comes from from the Number Pad Keys.
In other words attempting to get the symbol by using the code ALT+169 on the laptop it doesn't work, but by using an esternal keybord it's succesfull.

The thread serves its scope.

Cheers :)

Make sure you are using your keypad 0169 and not the 0169 on your main keyboard. If you are using a notebook without the keypad, you must use the numlock and use the virtual keypad within the main keyboard.
