how to use non-dx encoded film in compacts?

Hi everyone.

I have a nikon compact (zoom 300 AF) and I wish to use non-dx encoded film with it but the camera doesn't allow me to change ISO settings nor exposure compensation.

How can I get pass this problem? is there a way to trick the DX reader?

I remember seeing commercially made DX stickers that one would put onto the film cartridge some years ago. Maybe one can still get them?
 

interesting, i'll try that...

hope that it manages to trick my compact correctly... coz it does not show the ISO rating set to
