like tat can save $$ when i need passport size pic....
:D

i dun think it is worth the hassle if u juz wanna save a few dollars.

regards

i've done it for my family members.

Any digicam is (technologically) sufficient. The hard parts are 1. Controlling the lighting so that face is more or less evenly lit. 2. Printing good-enough quality to pass off as prints. Most of the cheaper inkjet/inks either smudge easily or fade too fast (with 1 year?)

I have done so for both my passport and my driving licence.
Setup: S602 + bounced ext flash + tripod + white background (wall)
Adjusted curves and unsharpmasked in Photoshop.
Printed on photo paper using Epson Photo 810.

You may not save much $$$ but you get the EXACT smile/look you want to appear on the photo.

If you are using A60 or other P&S DC without ext flash, you can experiment with other light sources at home or daylight.

I have done it numerous times for myself and family members. For passport, driving licence, membership form etc.

Similar setup to HOCL accept I am using CP5700 with SB80DX.

4R prints about eight passport photos.

I even did one for my 7 month old niece, quite tricky for this one.

After a while, it takes only a few minutes to churn out a decent photo. Another great advantage for DIY is you can stamp out any pimples etc. My pro lab prints 4R for 30c and I get 8 passport photos, isn't that economical? :)

cool..
but how to know the size, resizing and stuff??

or like can i save in my CF card, let those photo lab develop the print?
maybe like tat cheaper..
:D

Erm, to be very strict about the pricing, you have to factor in the CP5700, your flash, the computer hardware costs, PS, and the amount of time n effort for the expertise in shooting n post-processing. In other words, it doesn't cost just that extra '30c' for everyone. ;)
