Hey guys. gg to HK soon. thinking of selling my tamron 28-75mm and buying the tamron 17-35mm cos i prefer more wide angle. tincheung sells for only around $540 SGD.

but im wondering how u guys usually test the lenses you buy in HK. esp for 3rd party ones like sigma and tamron which have quite a bit of QC problems. does the shop have computers for you to load images and see? i don wanna end up with a dud.

also..is tamron warranty international?

I also tested the lens in the shop thru the LCD. hee hee.

But then I wasn't buying a 3rd party lens so there was somewhat less to worry about.

Do note that Tin Cheung ONLY allow you to test the lens after you have decided to buy it.

I was there last week and got myself a Sigma 100-300 APO HSM DG. Took it out on the street, shot a few pics, review it on the LCD of both camera and Epson P2000. Happy with the result and presto, poorer now.

Cheers

if you are sincere on buying, they won't be stingy to let you test.
however, if you
askp for this..ask for that...blar blar...sure they can't be bothered. :)
