Any other way to shoot a person who is standing in front of the sun or lighting behind besides increasing the exposure compensation or using external flash?

Thanks!

you can use reflector also.

if it is too troublesome for you bring this thing or that thing, can always switch around, place the light source behind you and let the subject facing the light source.

Cheap solution: A3 paper usually does the trick if you just want to take photo of the face.
If need to take photo of the whole body, then proper reflector is better.

Also flash can be useful, just dont flash too much (too powerful)

best bet is a reflector like mr. catchlights has mentioned
if you don't have one handy just use your pop up flash
Direct flash w/o using any diffussor/bounce card right?

right the flash will not be strong enough to fight against the sun
use the +/- flash exposure if you need to.
damn! i should've used the pop up flash.
I was covering an indoor shoot, and only used the +/- exposure with AP mode.
The subjects were ok, but the back lit was over exposed.

you can alternatively use metering and set it to subject rather than centred..but that will over expose your background...

another tip..when not sure..shoot in raw..u have a lot of control later on in post processing

ask your subject to stay still and take 3 images using bracket, then HDR the photos. :)
